Bulla Bracelet

Before writing, small clay tokens were used to record and carry information, some eventually sealed within clay forms known as bullae. The Bulla bracelet looks to this early material language, where meaning was held not in words, but in the impression and presence of an object. Clear glass and silver foil are brought together through heat, transmuting the silver into gold glass and suspending golden light within the material. Set in sterling silver, the glass is joined to a chain constructed entirely by hand, with each link individually formed and soldered.
