In alchemy, gold represents the perfection of matter, the point at which one substance reaches its most refined state. Alchemical Glass Pendant draws from this pursuit through silver foil and glass, materials that enter the kiln separately and emerge transmuted into gold glass.
Through heat, silver foil and glass are fused into gold glass, suspending metallic light within the material. The resulting surface shifts between glass and metal, revealing flashes of gold as it catches the light. The glass is held within a handmade sterling silver bezel, returning the transformed material to the silver from which it began.
